5 things you should NOT wear to a wedding

It’s understandable that in this day and age there has been diversion from the ‘traditional’ white wedding. Decoding the dress code can sometimes virtually be impossible, but there are certain rules that every guest should follow when it comes to knowing what to wear.

The Obvious – White, Duh

Itching to wear your new white dress? Don’t.  There is no exception when it comes to the bride and her wedding day (only if stated otherwise). If you’re not sure, then it’s best to just stay clear.

A Colour Close to White

Off-white, cream, beige. There is still no exception. Don’t even look. A colour close to white can be very deceiving, it can easily be mistaken for white in certain settings.

The Same Colour as The Bridesmaids.

You don’t want to look bitter that you didn’t get invited to the bridal party, do you? Sometimes, this can be a tricky one, but if you know what colour the bridesmaids are wearing then it’s probably for the best that you just try to avoid.

Keep it Classy

The attention should be directed towards the bride and groom. Don’t wear anything too revealing.  Weddings are often placed in a respectable setting with surrounding family. Try avoiding – short dresses, plunging necklines, or something sheer.

Jeans and a T-shirt

If you are bothering to show up, then the least you can do is make a little effort. Jeans and a T-shirt is a no go! It is too casual. A wedding is an eventful occasion; therefore maximum effort should be required.
